Herve Renard says Zimbabwean-based defender Aaron Katebe is showing promising signs for Zambia.
Katebe has so far earned three senior caps since making his debut against Angola in May.
The 20-year-old was one of the few outstanding players in Zambia's 2-1 loss to South Korea in a friendly played in Seoul on August 15.
"We have some promising players it was good to see Aaron in this type of game,"Renard said.
Katebe was a complete unknown before his May call-up.
Katebe has been at Zimbabwean club Hwange since 2010 whom he joined from Zambian third Division team Afrisports.
"He is young, needs to improve but he is doing his best and we will give him some time," Renard said.
The Hwange defender played the full 90 minutes in Seoul where he deputised in the central defensive position for regular Stophilla Sunzu of TP Mazembe.
